The Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP) Annual Forum
In late August, NIGP (The Institute for Public Procurement) held its Annual Forum and Products Exposition with in-person and virtual sessions. NIGP’s Annual Forum is the largest North American educational conference designed exclusively for individuals in public procurement and allows the opportunity for training, best practice sharing, and networking. NIGP’s 2022 Forum welcomed 1,076 attendees in Boston and 1,200 attendees virtually with sessions focusing on construction, cooperatives, cornerstones of procurement, leadership, and technology and innovation, as well as held a products exposition with 190 suppliers represented.

Jennifer Alford, Director of Procurement, Contracts & Auxiliary Services at San Joaquin Delta College, provided California Community College representation at the conference and shared her experience:
Attending the 2022 NIGP Annual Forum in Boston was a valuable trip for my professional development. I expanded my network and engaged in sessions on best practices in procurement from peers across the country. The conference program is structured in tracks allowing staff at any stage in their career to customize a schedule to address specialized needs for their organization. Strategic and tactical concepts were discussed that could be used immediately.
If you are interested in accessing professional development opportunities provided by NIGP, please consider attending their 2023 Forum in Louisville, KY (August 19-23), or taking advantage of the no-cost certificate programs and discounted courses provided through the NIGP-CollegeBuys partnership.
