Strengthening Nursing Education Through New Partnerships

California’s community colleges are at the forefront of training the next generation of nurses, providing students with the skills and confidence needed to enter a demanding and essential profession. High-quality, hands-on learning tools are critical to this mission, and new statewide contracts are making them more accessible to colleges.

The Foundation for California Community Colleges has partnered with six trusted vendors to provide a comprehensive range of training equipment, supplies, and services for nursing education and simulation. Partners include DiaMedical, Gaumard Scientific, Laerdal, Medical Shipment, Pocket Nurse, and VR Patients. 

Expanding Access to Innovative Tools

Through these agreements, colleges gain access to a wide spectrum of resources that bring classroom and clinical learning together. From high-fidelity manikins and virtual patient platforms to diagnostic equipment, patient care tools, and everyday consumables, these contracts ensure faculty and students have what they need to create real-world training experiences. Vendor partners also can provide installation, curriculum integration, and faculty training to help maximize program impact.

Real Value for Colleges

Designed with nursing programs in mind, these contracts provide cost savings through competitive pricing while ensuring all equipment and supplies purchased through the agreements align with accreditation and healthcare training standards.

Districts may also use Rebuilding Nursing Infrastructure Grant Program funding for purchases under these contracts, when applicable. This grant program creates another pathway for colleges to invest in critical resources without straining local budgets.
