Record Growth and Expansion: EPS Retreat Sets Stage for Future Success
The Enterprise and Procurement Services (EPS) team held a multi-purpose, annual retreat on July 17, 2024. Beyond fostering team camaraderie, this eventful day emphasized reflection, collaboration, and strengthening relationships with the institutions we serve.
Hosted at Sierra College, the team explored the campus and toured the Natural History Museum. Featuring an extensive collection of 16,000+ specimens, notably donated from or discovered by students and faculty, the museum left a lasting impression! Its ambitious plans for future growth highlight the valuable, educational role within the college, its history, and the broader community.
The team also celebrated several key accomplishments. The CollegeBuys contracts library demonstrated significant growth by adding 34 new agreements – 24 new vendors and 10 former partners – while executing 54 amendments and 51 renewals. CollegeBuys also issued and awarded five request for proposals (RFPs) to expand various services and equipment, including charter bus services, shelving and locker equipment, appliances, EV charging stations, and financial planning software. These initiatives address system needs and secure cost-savings, compliance, risk mitigation, and resource optimization. Further, the team relaunched the updated CollegeBuys eStore and celebrated rebranding to EPS, which now includes two new purchasing programs – SchoolBuys and CivicBuys.
For lunch, the EPS team attended the Tri Counties Bank Food Truck Fundraiser, benefiting the CCC Student Ambassador Program. This provided the team an opportunity to support a local business and contribute to a meaningful cause.
The team then returned to Sierra College for a productive meeting with the Purchasing Department to explore how the EPS team’s expertise and CollegeBuys’ role within the system could be leveraged for targeted support, underscoring the value of ongoing collaboration for mutual success.
The EPS team wrapped up an amazing day at TopGolf and celebrated the end of a strong fiscal year. The event was filled with cheering and laughter, building stronger connections and enhancing collaboration among the team.
The insights gleaned from the retreat will be instrumental in driving upcoming goals and strategies for the department. After this great opportunity to reset, realign, and recharge, EPS is looking forward to another successful year supporting educational institutions, public agencies, and the associated communities they serve.
