    The Changing Landscape of Solar in CA: Challenges and Opportunities for Community Colleges

    The session will provide an overview of impending changes to solar net metering rules in CA and how those changes will impact both existing and potential community college solar projects. The session will discuss existing incentives for solar and energy storage as well as provide details regarding an aggregated solar procurement opportunity through a partnership between CCLC and School Project for Utility Rate Reduction (SPURR).

    Cyber Security & Vendor Risk Management

    This panel presentation is intended to increase IT security awareness and provide best practices for third-party risk management.  The Chancellor’s Office will provide high-level updates and guidance on system initiatives based on the results of the systemwide cyber security assessment; district technology officers will explain why third party risk is important, provide an overview on compliance assessments such as SOC2 and HECVAT, and partner with a procurement officer on providing best practices on how to mitigate risk through contractual terms and local processes as a partnership effort between IT and Purchasing.

    Introduction to the New Purchasing Community in the Vision Resource Center

    In this presentation, the audience will gain a better understanding of the Vision Resource Center and its features, resources and tools to sharpen their skills, collaborate with professionals from across the state, and find more professional development opportunities throughout the year. The Vision Resource Center is an online learning and communication platform that offers all California community college employees equitable access to professional development opportunities.

    Participants will learn about the communities in the Vision Resource Center, where professionals from across the state can share resources, promote best practices, and spark discussions among college professionals, along with watching a short demonstration of how to access the new private Purchasing Community in the Vision Resource Center.

    Best Practices in Leveraging FCCC Contracts

    This presentation will provide a background on the Foundation’s delegated legal authority as the systemwide contracting and procurement office, highlighting the differences between a traditional piggyback and how to effectively take to your board for approval. The session will also use two key agreements with Ellucian and Trane to demonstrate what to look for in the agreement, and how to either work with FoundationCCC or add additional terms at the local level to enhance the needs specific to your district.
