NCCCPG Summer Meeting: A Day of Networking and Professional Development
The Northern California Community College Purchasing Group (NCCCPG) hosted a successful summer meeting that brought together procurement professionals from across the region. Led by Contra Costa Community College District’s Ben Cayabyab and San Joaquin Delta Community College District’s Jennifer Alford, the event provided a valuable platform for networking, exchanging ideas, and professional growth.
Cayabyab and Alford’s collaborative efforts led to a comprehensive program with engaging presentations and interactive sessions. Cayabyab challenged common procurement misconceptions, offering a fresh perspective on the procurement process. Alford facilitated a dynamic discussion on procurement fundamentals, fostering the engaging exchange of experiences and best practices.
The Foundation for California Community Colleges CollegeBuys team made significant contributions to the meeting. Jorge Burwick, Senior Program Manager, and Adrian Brennan-Evans, Contracts & Compliance Associate, provided valuable updates on the best practices procurement guidebook and compliance reference guide. The compliance guide is available under the Buyer Resources section of the CollegeBuys website, while the updated Guidebook can be found in the “CCC | Purchasing Community” section within the Vision Resource Center. Lastly, Jennifer Keiper, Senior Director of Procurement Services, shared updates on the CollegeBuys and STAC-STARTE programs, including increased contract accessibility and the upcoming fiscal year’s RFP roadmap.
The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office enriched the event with a presentation by Hoang Nguyen, Director of Facilities Planning, offering attendees valuable insights into the evolving college infrastructure landscape.
A comprehensive lunch and roundtable session concluded the meeting, where attendees engaged in fruitful discussions on various procurement topics, sharing knowledge and expertise with their peers.
