Mt. SAC receives AEP Award

We are excited to announce that Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) has been awarded the prestigious 2022 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI). This marks the inaugural receipt of the AEP award for Mt. SAC!

The AEP Award, established by NPI in 1995, is earned by public and non-profit agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence. The AEP program encourages the development of excellence and continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually. For 2022, there were 171 successful applicants internationally, including 73 cities, 36 counties, 15 special districts, 17 school districts, 14 higher education agencies, 5 state or provincial agencies, and 11 others. Mt. SAC was one of only two California Community Colleges to receive the highly esteemed award.

Mt. SAC was chosen to receive this award as an institution that has demonstrated innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership, and e-Procurement. They were awarded points in the category of continued pursuit of excellence by highlighting some of the projects pursued that were above and beyond any of the other award criteria, such as the implementation of an electronic expense management system, which allows the efficient and fully electronic management of the P-Card program. Mt. SAC continuously strives to find efficiencies and ways to make the purchasing process as user-friendly as possible for its campus community.

Special acknowledgment is due to Angelic Davis, Director of Purchasing, Printing, and Mail Services for her efforts in leading the Mt. SAC procurement team. Angelic has over 20 years of experience in procurement, 15 years of which have been spent in public procurement. She has gained valuable experience and knowledge working for diverse agencies in various roles in public procurement, including the City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department, the City of Moreno Valley, and most recently at Mt. SAC. In addition to her role as Director, Angelic is the Co-Chair of SCCCPA, serves on the FCCC Professional Development Committee Workgroup, and is the Immediate Past Chapter Chair of the Inland Empire Chapter of the California Association of Public Procurement Officials (CAPPO).

Congratulations to Mt. SAC on achieving this highly regarded award!
