J.C. Sales 40 under 40 Honoree

It is with great pleasure that we congratulate our Vice President of Program Development, Jorge J.C. Sales, who was selected as one of Sacramento Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees! Each year, the Sacramento Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Awards program recognizes Sacramento professionals making waves in the region early in their careers.

Throughout his career at the Foundation for California Community Colleges, J.C.’s work has focused on access, equity, and corporate partnerships – working closely with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and systemwide stakeholders, as well as corporate partners to explore opportunities for continued access for colleges, students, faculty, and staff in California’s public higher education institutions.
In his current role, J.C. leads the FoundationCCC’s efforts in program integration, aimed at weaving student-centered programs to create more robust student support programming systemwide, as well as serves as the system’s lead strategic sourcing officer for CollegeBuys, the only systemwide procurement program focused exclusively on the needs of community colleges. His work has made a significant impact on our colleges and students, especially in these last several years through the pandemic with his leadership in ensuring adequate online education tools were deployed to colleges and students while also negotiating with vendors to protect the system’s supply chain.
J.C. has over 15 years of experience in California’s government and nonprofit sectors, having worked with then-Attorney General Edmund G. Brown as Deputy Press Officer; Regional Director for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s reelection campaign; and a Policy Fellow for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. J.C. received his bachelor’s in economics and his Juris Doctor and Master’s in public administration from the University of Southern California.
We celebrate J.C.’s inclusion in the 2022 40 Under 40 honorees! He not only excels in his profession and contributes to the Sacramento community, but he embodies the drive, commitment, and passion that propels the California Community College system forward.
