CollegeBuys Team Strengthens Partnerships through Community College Night and CCSF Visit

On May 13th, the CollegeBuys team participated in the inaugural Community College Night at Oracle Park during the San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game. This event provided a valuable opportunity for the team to connect with districts and vendors alike, fostering relationships and exploring opportunities for collaboration and growth.

During the visit to San Francisco, the CollegeBuys team met with the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) Purchasing Department. The visit included a lunch prepared by the college’s culinary department and a campus tour, providing a chance for CollegeBuys and CCSF Purchasing to discuss collaborative approaches to solving current system challenges and align with local priorities.

The CollegeBuys Team (shown above) was able to tour the CCSF campus alongside the CCSF Purchasing Department and discuss current district priorities.

Following the CCSF visit, the team met with representatives from Krueger International (KI) at their Bay Area headquarters to explore KI’s latest product offerings and brainstorm potential initiatives to better support educational institutions.

The day culminated at Oracle Park, where California Community College (CCC) students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and college foundation personnel gathered to show their school spirit and enjoy an evening of baseball. Special event tickets contributed to local organizations within the CCC community. At the end of the night, the game resulted in a 6-4 defeat for the Giants, after extending into the tenth inning!

Engaging in stakeholder outreach and team-building activities such as this enables relationship-building and deliberation on future collaborations with procurement professionals, districts, and vendors. As we move forward, the CollegeBuys team looks forward to building upon these connections and forging new partnerships with districts and partners statewide.
