CollegeBuys Showcases Systemwide Energy Solutions at the 2025 CCFC Annual Conference
The Foundation for California Community Colleges’ (FoundationCCC) CollegeBuys program was proud to participate in the 2025 Community College Facility Coalition (CCFC) Annual Conference, held November 5–7 in Sacramento.
Each fall, the CCFC Annual Conference brings together community college stakeholders statewide for workshops, general sessions, and a trade show that provide valuable education and networking opportunities. The conference serves as a vital forum for facilities professionals, energy partners, and campus leaders to collaborate on strategies that enhance the resiliency and sustainability of California Community Colleges.
CollegeBuys was featured in a session titled “Accelerating Solar, Battery & Microgrid Projects: A Systemwide Approach to Implementation & Delivery,” highlighting how FoundationCCC is leading a coordinated effort to streamline renewable energy deployment across the system. As sustainability and energy resilience continue to emerge as critical priorities for higher education, CollegeBuys has developed systemwide Master Services Agreements that enable colleges and other participating agencies to procure cost-effective, resilient, and scalable clean energy solutions while significantly reducing procurement timelines. The session detailed the recent microgrid Request for Proposal (RFP) and awarded vendors, as well as project scopes at College of the Desert and Mt. San Antonio College, showcasing how these agreements help districts advance their sustainability goals and optimize available funding.
With federal clean energy tax credits sunsetting, projects should begin construction by July 2026 to maximize financial benefits. Through these systemwide agreements, districts can efficiently implement solar, battery, and microgrid projects that contribute to long-term energy resilience and cost savings.
